Mushahid Hussain Syed betrayed Akbar Bugti & attacked Supreme Court.

[Picture is Courtesy of Monthly Newsline Pakistan 4 JUNE 2009] ISLAMABAD, Aug 29: Former Air Force chief Air Marshal Nur Khan has roundly condemned the ruling Muslim League leadership, specially its president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and its secretary-general Mushahid Hussain Syed, for continuing to serve the Gen Musharraf regime even after the murder of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti at the hands of a contingent of Army.

They claim to have been very good friends of the late Bugti. Shujaat never tires of expressing his indebtedness to the Nawab for saving his father’s life when Z.A.Bhutto, the then prime minister, had reportedly instructed Bugti, then governor of Balochistan to have his father Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi who was then in the provincial jail, killed. And look at Mushahid. He was among the three whom Bugti had named for hearing his case and had promised to accept whatever their verdict. Is this how one pays back trusted friends? asked Nur Khan. Nur Khan, who as the governor of the defunct West Pakistan, had negotiated with the estranged Baloch Sardars, including Akbar Khan Bugti, in the late 1960s and brought them back into the mainstream politics, said he had found all these Sardars to be highly patriotic and devoted to Pakistan. “I would trust them more than I would trust any other Pakistani to die for Pakistan”, he said. Talal Akbar Bugti and Nawab Aali Bugti, son and grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti respectively, have alleged that Shaukat Aziz, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed are the real killers of the 22nd chieftain of the Bugti tribe. Mushahid "Mandela" Hussain Syed Attacked Supreme Court [Former Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah]

Mr Mushahid Hussain is one of the six ruling party legislators who have recorded statements before the three-member bench. On another occasion Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid told Mr Mushahid Hussain "you might be a minister, but in the court you are merely a witness". When asked who was responsible for the incident, an aggressive Mushahid Hussain said "the incident took place as a result of the conspiracy of Sajjad Ali Shah and Farooq Leghari." Mushahid Hussain claims to be a profoundly educated man, but his association with Nawaz Sharif seems to have washed away all his qualifications. He is responsible for Haqqani's predicament and for all the troubles faced by Najam Sethi. The government has also not denied that Sethi was abducted in the middle of the night by its dirty-tricks men, beaten up and kept in solitary confinement. He at least has been released, without any charges having been made against him as none could be proved. Now free, he has been banned from leaving the country and is facing 28 income tax cases. The systematic income-tax-cases harassment is a hangover from the Bhutto days. Sethi would do well to refer to the White Papers compiled by Burney, 'Misuse of the Instruments of State Power' and 'Misuse of the Media.' With this vicious government, Najam may suffer. All we can do is to stand by him and help as much as we can. One of the worst mistakes cocky Mushahid has made is to have sought to stand trial in the BBC televized court of 'Hard Talk'. He cut a sorry figure in front of his griller, Tim Sebastian, and managed to successfully disgrace our nation. We have him on tape, and this is one tape he will never be able to claim is doctored. In the service of his master, he makes a pretence of believing what the world does not believe about the present Kashmir situation. His performance may have made us lose whatever residual sympathy we had from a few quarters in the world. Mushahid further disgraced our judiciary with the lies he told about the storming of the Supreme Court. He told the world that the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Sajjad Ali Shah, was not sacked by his government but by his fellow judges. He omitted to say what the government's role was in this affair. Apart from Mushahid Husain and Saifur Rahman and Nasreen Jalil who I know, Haqqani was able to identify a few MNAs, MPAs and others and Zahid confirmed the identity of those he knew. This was conveyed to the Court. Those listed as having been seen on the film were Mushtaq Tahirkheli, political secretary to the PM, information minister Senator Mushahid Hussain of the PML, Ehtesab Bureau Chief Senator Saifur Rahman of the PML, PML MNAs Khwaja Asif and Tariq Aziz, PML MPAs Saad Rafiq, Chaudhry Tanvir, Akhtar Rasool, Mian Abdul Sattar and PML party worker Najma Hamid. ISLAMABAD, June 22: The prime minister's adviser for information and culture, Mushahid Hussain Sayed, said that the Kansi affair was a sensitive one and cautioned against exploiting it for political motives. In a briefing on the arrest of Aimal Kansi, he told reporters that Pakistan's priorities were very clear. "We will not give protection to any person said to be engaged in terrorism since this can be only hurting the interests of Pakistan." The PM's adviser described Aimal Kansi's case as that of a fugitive wanted for a criminal act in a "friendly country". Mushahid made it clear that Kansi was wanted for the killing of two employees of the CIA in Washington in Jan 1993. Since then, he said, he was on the run as a fugitive from justice and he was said to have taken refuge in either Afghanistan or Pakistan. He said during the last four years, several raids were conducted to arrest Kansi but he had managed to escape. "Given this context, Pakistan had no responsibility either for his actions in the United States or for providing him any sort of protection against the law," he said. Mushahid Hussain said there was no question of Kansi being some sort of a hero. "He is simply a fugitive from justice, wanted for a crime that he is alleged to have committed in the United States." Mushahid "Mandela" Hussain Syed Born Again Muslim Leaguer

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26: Former information minister and PML leader Mushahid Hussain Syed was released after 14 months and 14 days of detention, here on Monday. Mushahid had initially been kept in a solitary confinement in the Punjab House for about two weeks. Later, he was allowed to live in his own house but with no permission to receive visitors other than his family members. He was among those PML leaders who had been arrested immediately after the military takeover on Oct 12, 1999. Mushahid told reporters on Tuesday that he had no plan to give up politics and that he was very much in politics. "I intend to work for the unity of the Muslim League but I will not work for personalities," he elaborated. As for the latest development, the PML-N is reportedly keeping a close eye on things. The Q-League has given it a tough time in parts of Punjab and perhaps Chaudhry Shujaat and Mushahid Hussain are trying to create a constituency in Sindh by merging with Pir Pagara’s faction. This is probably not designed to dent the PPP’s vote bank in Sindh but to eliminate the chances of the N-League gaining a foothold in the province. As it is, PML-N has hardly been active in Sindh’s flood-affected areas. There is also the question of name, for the APML tag already appears to be taken: Gen Musharraf plans to launch his own party of that name on Oct 1. Ultimately, it is difficult to see what great, long-lasting impact the merger will have on national politics as none of those involved have sterling democratic credentials.
