Memory Loss & Somersaults of Imran Khan!

PML-Q playing role of real opposition: Imran - * Shujaat appreciates Imran’s political views, says will side with him on every matter Staff Report LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) is the only party playing the role of a real opposition in the country while all others, including President Asif Ali Zardari (in Punjab) and Nawaz Sharif (in Centre), are in the government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Saturday. He said this while talking to the media along with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, who called on Khan at his residence along with Punjab Assembly opposition leader Chaudhry Zahiruddin and Moonis Elahi. The PTI chief said that they discussed various issues, including inflation, unemployment, corruption and matters relating to Punjab and the federation. “We have agreed to keep in touch with each other,” he added. Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said it made no difference whether Yousaf Raza Gilani was the prime minister or any other PPP leader becomes the prime minister. “Every thing seems to be messed up. We have been united by common national interests and we appreciate Imran Khan’s political role. There are disagreements between the politicians on all important matter. However, majority of the people look up to Imran Khan as a good leader,” he said. All those elements, which are trying to create disorder in the government for the sake of their personal gains, will be blocked, Shujaat said. “Governments come and go but we are committed to our principles,” he added. To a question, Shujaat said, “We will side with Imran Khan on every matter, whether it is a long march or another political system.” Imran said he was happy at Shujaat’s cordial visit at his residence. How PML - Q was Created by General Pervez Musharraf? Exclusively for Imran Khan

Rigging Pakistan's Election: Justice Delayed is Justice Denied - Part 1

ISLAMABAD: The main wheeler and dealer of the ISI during the 2002 elections, the then Maj-Gen Ehtesham Zamir, now retired, has come out of the closet and admitted his guilt of manipulating the 2002 elections, and has directly blamed Gen Musharraf for ordering so. Talking to The News, the head of the ISI’s political cell in 2002, admitted manipulating the last elections at the behest of President Musharraf and termed the defeat of the King’s party, the PML-Q, this time “a reaction of the unnatural dispensation (installed in 2002).” Zamir said the ISI together with the NAB was instrumental in pressing the lawmakers to join the pro-Musharraf camp to form the government to support his stay in power. Looking down back into the memory lane and recalling his blunders which, he admitted, had pushed the country back instead of taking it forward, Zamir feels ashamed of his role and conduct. Massively embarrassed because he was the one who negotiated, coerced and did all the dirty work, the retired Maj-Gen said he was not in a position to become a preacher now when his own past was tainted. He said the country would not have faced such regression had the political management was not carried out by the ISI in 2002. But he also put some responsibility of the political disaster on the PML-Q as well. The former No: 2 of the ISI called for the closure of political cell in the agency, confessing that it was part of the problem due to its involvement in forging unnatural alliances, contrary to public wishes. Zamir’s blaming Musharraf for creating this unnatural alliance rings true as another former top associate of Musharraf, Lt-Gen (retd) Jamshed Gulzar Kiyani has already disclosed that majority of the corps commanders, in several meetings, had opposed Musharraf’s decision of patronising the leadership of the King’s party. “We had urged Musharraf many times during the corps commanders meeting that the PML-Q leadership was the most condemned and castigated personalities. They are the worst politicians who remained involved in co-operative scandals and writing off loans. But Musharraf never heard our advice,” Kiyani said while recalling discussions in their high profile meetings. He said one of their colleagues, who was an accountability chief at that time, had sought permission many times for proceeding against the King’s party top leaders but was always denied. Kiyani asked Musharraf to quit, the sooner the better, as otherwise the country would be in a serious trouble. Ma-Gen (retd) EhteshamZamir termed the 2008 elections ‘fairer than 2002’. He said the reason behind their fairness is that there was relatively less interference of intelligence agencies this time as compared to the last time. But he stopped short of saying that there was zero interference in the 2008 polls. “You are quite right,” he said when asked to confirm about heavy penetration of ISI into political affairs during the 2002 elections. But he said he did not do it on his own but on the directives issued by the government. Asked who directed him from the government side and if there was somebody else, not President Musharraf, he said: “Obviously on the directives of President Musharraf.” Asked if he then never felt that he was committing a crime by manipulating political business at the cost of public wishes, he said: “Who should I have told except myself. Could I have asked Musharraf about this? I was a serving officer and I did what I was told to do. I never felt this need during the service to question anyone senior to me,” he said and added that he could not defend his acts now. “It was for this reason that I have never tried to preach others what I did not practice. But I am of the view that the ISI’s political cell should be closed for good by revoking executive orders issued in 1975,” he said. Responding to a question regarding corruption cases that were used as pressure tactics on lawmakers, he said: “Yes! This tool was used, not only by the ISI. The NAB was also involved in this exercise.” Former corps commander of Rawalpindi, Lt-Gen (retd) Jamshed Gulzar Kiyani said majority of corps commanders had continued opposing Musharraf’s alliance with top leadership of the PML-Q. “Not just in one meeting, we opposed his alignment with these corrupt politicians in many meetings but who cared. Now Musharraf has been disgraced everywhere, thanks to his political cronies.” REFERENCE: The man, who rigged 2002 polls, spills the beans By Umar Cheema Sunday, February 24, 2008 http://www.thenews.com.pk/top_story_detail.asp?Id=13159

ISLAMABAD: After MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s statement regarding support for martial law-like steps, the chief of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said his faction would back military rule for ‘stability’ of the country, ARY NEWS reports. Speaking ARY NEWS’ program ‘View on News’, hosted by Dr Shahid Masood, the PTI chief said the country is moving towards revolution and PTI will support it in every possible way. He joined MQM chief’s chorus regarding support of Martial Law in the country, saying that “Tehrik-e-Insaf will back military rule in the country for the sake of stability.” Khan, however, said the army should not come into power and grab authorities of a civil and democratic government. He was of the view that 2008’s general elections in Pakistan held only to succeed US-led war against terrorism in the region. On Sunday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief demanded to ‘patriotic generals to take action similar to martial law against corrupt politicians’, saying that a civilian set-up must be supported over a military rule. Almost every ruling and opposition parties have opposed Hussain’s statement and expressed concern over it. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcast Qamar Zaman Kaira denounced the statement, saying it is against Constitution and people’s will. The chief of his own faction of Pakistan Muslim League, Mian Nawaz Sharif on Monday termed the statement as ‘map of Pakistan's destruction’. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain’s statement to incite the Army to take over could in no way be condoned. In a statement here, the PTI chairman, however, said that the MQM leader’s statement was a clear admission of the failure of the ruling coalition. He contended that instead of seeking the Army’s intervention, the MQM should have left the government and pressed for the mid-term polls. He was of the view that it was time to go for fresh elections under the aegis of the judiciary. Imran noted that it was not the military’s mandate to interfere in politics and their meddling had already cost the nation dearly. Imran lauded the Army’s role in the ongoing flood relief operations and said there was no logic in dragging it into political mopping up operations. NOW READ IMRAN KHAN ON THE SAME MQM:)

ISLAMABAD – PTI Chairman Imran Khan has categorically stated that he in no way condones the statement made by MQM Chief Altaf Hussain inciting the military for another Martial Law. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Imran said that he feels that since the MQM is part of the ruling coalition, Altaf Hussain’s statement is a clear admission of failure by this ruling coalition. However, instead of calling for the Army to intervene again, with all the chaos that implies, the MQM should have chosen to leave the coalition and demanded mid-term elections. Imran said, “It is a standard procedure in a democratic dispensation that whenever a government fails to deliver, it becomes mandatory on it to seek a fresh mandate from the people. The time has certainly come when a transparent election under the aegis of the judiciary are held immediately to bring the country out of the present crisis of confidence and the prevailing trust deficit that exists between the government and people of Pakistan.” He said that as for the military, it is not its place to intervene in the political process and our past history reflects the costs we have paid for these interventions. “At present the Army is doing a remarkable job of flood relief and it should not be dragged in to do political mopping operations, which turn into prolonged and costly political holding operations,” he maintained. "QUOTE"

ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan has finalised preparations to file a formal case with a British court against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, The News learnt here on Sunday. However, a senior MQM leader made it clear that his party and its leadership had nothing to do with violence and had always worked for the supremacy of parliament and strengthening of democracy. "Both Altaf Bhai and the MQM are victims of political expediencies and are themselves looking for justice," he maintained. Sources in the Tehrik-e-Insaf told this correspondent that legal experts of the PTI had given final touches to documents to be filed along with the case against the self-exiled leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Apparently, there is now hardly any chance of Imran getting cooperation from the ruling coalition government on the application the party chairman had filed against Altaf Hussain mid-last year, sources said. "In the given situation, the chances of the ruling coalition's survival appear bleak what to talk of the government allowing the Scotland Yard to visit Pakistan for a probe," these sources pointed out.

This correspondent tried to contact Imran Khan, but he was not available for comments. However, PTI Central Information Secretary Omar Cheema confirmed that the party was ready to file a case in a British court against the MQM leader. In reply to a question, he said that Imran was optimistic initially that the new government would not impede the investigations by the British police but the persistent differences between the PPP and the PML-N had compelled him to pursue the matter through a London court.

He recalled how the former PML-led government had twice not allowed his party leader to land in Karachi and the caretaker government of Sindh once, for his stance against the MQM and its leadership. Omar Cheema contended that the MQM's inclusion into the Sindh cabinet and its expected representation in the federal government, if everything went well in the coming weeks, could ultimately leave the PTI chairman with no other option but to leave for London to push for a probe into Altaf Hussain's role in violence.

The PTI information secretary, however, noted that Imran Khan had been requested by the party not to leave Pakistan at this critical juncture as his presence here was more important than leaving for Britain. "The party leader is also convinced and has, for the moment, shelved the London visit, but preparations have been completed to file a case against Altaf," he said. Last year, Imran Khan had filed an application with the British police against Altaf Hussain and had charged that the MQM leader had masterminded the May 12, 2007 massacre. In order to further investigate his allegations against the MQM leader, the Scotland Yard had wanted to visit Pakistan but was not allowed to do so. Playing down the issue, a senior MQM leader, who did not want to be named, made it clear that his party and its leadership had always worked for the supremacy of parliament and strengthening of democracy. "Both Altaf Bhai and the MQM are victims of political expediencies and are themselves looking for justice," he maintained, saying the party leader had nothing to do with violence of any kind. Los Angeles (USA) Court Verdict against Imran Khan on Sita White Case.

URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GLiPeUuvNI

Sita White, who has been claiming that she has a daughter from Imran Khan, former Pakistan cricket captain turned politician, is now reportedly trying to legally change the surname of the 11-year-old daughter Tyrian to his. Khan, a member of the Pakistan National Assembly, has always denied that he is the father of an illegitimate child. But Sita White, daughter of the late millionaire industrialist Lord White of Hull, has been quoted in a daily saying: "Tyrian needs a name change. "It is a requirement by the American courts to have at least tried for Imran's consent." Calling from her home in California, she told him, says Nigel Dempster of the Daily Mail: "We would like him to participate". Apparently, another round of the long-running dispute between the two is on the anvil. Imran Khan has persistently denied paternity. But Sita White challenged him to take a blood test. In 1997, a US Judge ruled by default that Tyrian was Imran Khan's child after he failed to turn up for hearing. Sita White, now 41-year-old, says she only wants happiness for her daughter, who is studying in a state school in Los Angeles. Sita White claims to have met Imran at Tramp, the London niterie in 1986 and they dated off and on for several years. She claims that Tyrian was conceived on a last "night of love".
