Ansar Abbasi again "quotes" Wiki Leaks which he himself never believed:)

It was General Musharraf who had permitted the US to use its airbases not only to attack Afghanistan but also to launch drone attacks on the people of Pakistan in the name of the so-called war on terror. The present regime also continued with Musharraf’s policies and allowed much larger number of drone attacks than before. WikiLeaks had revealed that Prime Minister Gilani had endorsed the drones’ policy. Gilani was reported to have even said to the US officials that his government would raise hue and cry over these drone attacks for the sake of countering the public pressure. However, of late and after the Raymond Davis episode, things became extremely tense between Washington and Islamabad with the CIA insisting to carry on with its operations, including the drone attacks inside Pakistan, while the ISI is adamant to restricting the Americans from crossing the red-line. ISLAMABAD: Amidst the on-going revelations of WikiLeaks, unimpressive denials and lame excuses would not work. Living in a state of denial and shying away from the past mistakes, which our civilian and military leaders have made, would hurt Pakistan more than before. Since fault-lines have been identified almost everywhere and in every key office that matters in our executive and amongst politicians, so talking of proceedings against anyone would mean nothing. Even if what is disclosed by the WikiLeaks is proved, thinking of removing all those named and blamed is not possible. In such a situation the only possible way forward is to rethink our existing strategies to evolve better ones. For our secure future, it is vital to be serious at least now before it is too late. Let bygones be bygones and re-assess the whole situation, take serious accounts of these leaks, understand the conspiracy, fill in the missing dots, see how smartly the Americans have been using our top men and shamelessly sponsoring divisions, to evolve a well thought-out mechanism where such irresponsible things do not happen again and our enemies or those disguising as our “friends” do not do treacherous things with us again. These leaks also reveal that the institutionalized policy making capacity lacks here and things are being run on person-to-person basis in a manner where one hand does not know what the other hand is doing. The WikiLeaks’ exposures could be used as an opportunity to ensure that we are not befooled so effortlessly again. The leaks of US missions’ cables should be treated as valuable asset in order to learn from our own mistakes and for understanding the tricks and trades of Washington’s diplomacy that has appeared more like a spying work than anything else. Although much less than even one percent of the US State Department’s leaks have been shared with the media as yet, still a lot has already appeared to see the dirty aspects of the American foreign policy vis a vis Pakistan- the so-called American ally. Example one: In view of the already known fact that the condemned NRO was promulgated by General Musharraf following the intervention of United States and its globally known poodle state-United Kingdom, now WikiLeaks reveal that MQM had told Interior Minister Abdur Rehman Malik that both the US and the UK had urged the party to oppose the NRO- the move that led the government to withdraw the legislation from parliamentary consideration and placed the future of President Asif Ali Zardari at risk. Example two: Despite the historic struggle of the people of Pakistan for the restoration of the independent judiciary led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, it was the then US Ambassador Anne Patterson, who had tried to influence the PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif to stop demanding for the restoration of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. However, Nawaz Sharif did not bow to the American dictate and successfully led the March 2009 long march that made history for Pakistan. Example three: Holbrooke, Obama’s special envoy on Afghanistan and Pakistan, and apparently a great sympathizer of Islamabad is reported by the WikiLeaks to have told New Delhi that Washington support’s Indian schemes for Afghanistan and does not care about Pakistan’s concerns. Holbrook also talked to Indians of tensions between President Zardari, Army Chief, Nawaz Sharif and others but conveniently overlooked what has been the Americans’ role in these divisions as reflected by the WikiLeaks disclosures. To protect Indian interest in Afghanistan, Washington has been pressing Pakistan to be harsh on Afghan Taliban meaning thereby to create enemy Afghanistan for Pakistan to make the latter vulnerable on both its eastern and western borders. Some serious research into the revelation of the WikiLeaks would unveil a lot more. Those blamed to have shared their secrets with the Americans are also required to be interviewed to get to know the right context of their reported utterances. It would also be vital to know if the Americans to whom our leaders opened up their hearts, prompted them to say how they have been recorded in the cables. In view of these experiences, the government and the parliament are duty bound to formulate a new protocol for the interaction of our rulers, officials (both military and civilians) and even key politicians with the foreign dignitaries and diplomats. Like what the Americans did, every word of such interactions should be minuted though could be kept confidential. Such records should be made part of the official record. It would help checking unnecessary utterances on part of our officials and holders of public office besides keeping all concerned government authorities aware of what is said to whom in the government and army. Meanwhile thanks to the WikiLeaks for identifying at least two authorizations, given to the Americans by Pakistan authorities despite such actions clearly crossing redline and breaching the sovereignty of Pakistan. Firstly, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani’s permission to the Americans to continue with the drone attacks till the time they get their target. Secondly, the Pakistan Army’s permission to the American Special Forces to join Pak-Army operation in tribal areas. Both these authorizations are too much to be swallowed by any independent nation. It is better to reverse both to win back the sovereignty of Pakistan. Otherwise it may not bother Gilani much but Pakistan Army would definitely lose the confidence and trust of the people of Pakistan, which must not happen. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan stands insecure as our leadership, both political and military, ruling the country have been exposed by no one else but Washington, to whom our leadership is shown by WikiLeaks to have sold their souls at the cost of national integrity, honour and prestige. Is our fate in safe hands? This is the fundamental questionthat boggles almost every mind in Pakistan as the WikiLeaks bombshell, believed to be deliberately leaked by Washington to attain its designs including chaos in Pakistan, leaves hardly anyone among the leaders here to be trusted. Each and every word of WikiLeaks would be taken as true if Pakistani authorities and leaders, blamed and shamed by these leaks, do not come out with a clear answer. They need to reply, more importantly through their actions, that Pakistan is no more American domain. Otherwise, WikiLeaks precisely proves what was earlier said i.e. Pakistan has been practically reduced from a sovereign state to an American colony as the president, prime minister, top political leaders and even Army chief all have been shown pleasing or taking into confidence the US ambassador — the de facto viceroy of Pakistan — to continue ruling the roost with the blessings of Washington. DG ISI Lt Gen Pasha too crossed the limits of discipline as he is shown by the WikiLeaks to have told US officials that President Asif Ali Zardari was corrupt. The question here arises why did he report such purely internal matter to the Americans. The only exception has been Imran Khan, the man who on the face of Americans has been criticising US policies, drone attacks, the so-called war on terror besides asking for negotiated settlement with Taliban to end extremism and refusing to dance to the tunes of the “real masters” of this unfortunate country. Shame is too little a word to reflect on the portrayed conduct of those ruling Pakistan after one goes through the WikiLeaks, which is expected to heap more dirt on Pakistan as well as the Muslim nations. What would be more shameful than reading President Asif Ali Zardari as conceding to the Americans, “We are here because of you,” and then assuring Washington, “We won’t act without consulting with you.” To the pleasure of his masters, Zardari committed Pakistan to the war on terror, insisting that it was Pakistan’s own war. Asfandyar Wali too shares the shame by inviting Washington to influence both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari through Jeddah and Dubai to mend fences. Why did he invite three foreign countries in matters purely pertaining to internal politics? Look at the callousness of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who on the issue of drone attacks told Washington, “I don’t care if they (US) do it (carry out drone attacks) as long as they get the right people. We’ll protest in the National Assembly and then ignore it.” The premier had snubbed the interior minister Rehman Malik, who had suggested to the Americans that the Predator attacks should be stopped after the Bajaur operation. Look at the double speak of the PML-N, whose top leadership both Nawaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan were shown repeatedly assuring the Americans that the PML-N was pro-America. To leave no doubt about his loyalty to the Americans, Nawaz recounted his decision to override his Chief of Army Staff and deploy Pakistani troops to Saudi Arabia in support of the US coalition in the first Gulf War. Here Chaudhry Nisar Khan reminded that it was the PPP and its leaders who were organising street demonstrations against Pakistan joining with the US coalition. Exposing the hypocrisy of the already stinking Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the WikiLeaks revealed that the leader of the country’s most fiercely pro-Taliban religious party, hosted a jovial dinner for Ms Patterson at which the Maulana sought her backing to become the prime minister and expressed a desire to visit America. His lieutenant Abdul Ghafoor Haideri acknowledged that “All important parties in Pakistan had to get the approval of the US (to get power).” Just compare the actions of these Maulanas to what they preach in their speeches. Simply disgraceful! Interior minister Rehman Malik is referred to as a frequent and co-operative interlocutor, who professes his support for cooperation with the United States. No less shocking is the way the Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has been opening his heart and mind before the Americans, including the US ambassador. Otherwise giving the impression of being a man of few words, the Army chief spoke before the Americans against President Zardari and opposition leader Nawaz Sharif, and also talked of getting resignation from the president and tailoring democracy to his sweet choice. He also hinted at supporting Asfandyar Wali Khan, the leader of the Awami National Party, as the new president. Kayani even made it clear to Ms Patterson, the former US ambassador, that regardless of how much he disliked Zardari, he distrusted Nawaz even more. Such hobnobbing of the military chief with any foreign diplomat or official, what to talk of Americans, is undoubtedly a violation of discipline and breach of his oath. Unluckily, we have a tainted president, tainted prime minister and tainted political leaders otherwise this is a fit case of seeking explanation from the Army chief. With such leadership, both political and military, Pakistan’s future is really bleak. Whom should we trust? Who is free from the US influence? Can we become a sovereign nation? Can we take our own decisions? Why do we have more faith in Washington than in God? How could we save Pakistan from being destabilised after reading what our president, prime minister, political leaders and Army chief have said to a minnow American — Anne Patterson? With such leadership, how can we tackle the problem of terrorism? Who would save us from disgrace and shame? One hardly has any answer to the above questions. Our irony is that our leaders are leading us to shame like never before. What option do they have to undo what they have brought for this country and its people? Resignations and stepping down from their respective public and political offices is one option. Another option is to say a firm no to the American drone attacks, cut the Nato supply line, revisit our policy on US’s so-called war on terror, halt all military operations inside Pakistan, open up dialogue with the local Taliban leaders to bring to an end terrorism and desist from dancing to the tunes of Americans. Otherwise these leaks, containing truths and half-truths all suiting Washington but embarrassing others, are bound to create more mistrust and chaos in the country, which is the actual design of those having leaked it from Washington. KARACHI: A story filed by a news agency about purported WikiLeaks cables disclosing Indiaís involvement in Balochistan and Waziristan, carried by The News, Daily Jang and many other Pakistani newspapers, has been widely criticised as not being accurate. The prestigious British newspaper The Guardian described the report as “the first case of WikiLeaks being exploited for propaganda purposes”. The report said that US diplomats described senior Indian generals as vain, egotistical and genocidal, and that India’s government was secretly allied with Hindu fundamentalists. It also claimed that Indian spies were covertly supporting Islamist militants in the tribal belt and Balochistan. The story was released by the Islamabad-based Online news agency and was run by The News and Daily Jang with the confidence that it was a genuine report and must have been vetted before release. However, several inquiries suggest that this was not the case. When contacted, the owner of the agency, Mohsin Baig, and some of the editorial staff were themselves unclear about the source of the story and said they would investigate the matter at their end. Mohsin Baig said he had just returned from Turkey where he had accompanied the prime minister on his official visit and was therefore in the dark about how the story was released. He said he would talk to his editorial staff and get back to us. After a while, Onlineís news editor contacted us and told us he too was unaware about the source of the story and would check and get back to us as soon as possible. Despite repeated requests, he declined to contact the employee who had downloaded the news, and asked us to check with them the next day. On further inquiries, we learnt from our sources that the story was dubious and may have been planted. A check on the Internet as well as The Guardian report showed that the story was not based on Wikileaks cables, and had in fact originated from some local websites such as The Daily Mail and Rupee News known for their close connections with certain intelligence agencies. The Guardian quoted Shaheen Sehbai, Group Editor The News, as describing the story as “agencies’ copy” and said he would investigate its origins. ISLAMABAD: One Shazia Shah, a school teacher has alleged leading journalist Ansar Abbasi is backing "Qabza" group in Murree adding bother in law and some other relatives of Ansar Abbasi are part of this group. She said this along with other members of affected family while addressing a press conference here Wednesday in Islamabad Press Club. "My family belongs to Bhurbun and the Qabza group which is patronized by brother in law of Ansar Abbasi has illegally occupied a land tract of 14 kanal owned by my family", she charged. This land valued Rs 2 Lac per canal, she added. About 50 to 60 hooligans attacked our home a few days earlier and abused our family publicly, she told. Some people also attacked my car when I was traveling from Murree to Islamabad by my car a week before and I made a marrow escape", she blamed. Waqar who is brother of Shazia Shah alleged Qabza group had refused to accept the decision of Jirga. He appealed to chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take immediate notice of this illegal occupation and take action for ensuring early return of land to his family from the illegal occupants. ISLAMABAD: RIUJ (Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists) has taken strong notice of, the fact that Mr. Ansar Abbasi has written a letter to Chief Minister Punjab, in which acting as a very honest person, has returned his plot allotted to him in Media Town, Rawalpindi as a member of Press Club. He was more than welcome if his intentions were good, but unfortunately he also asked CM Shahbaz Sharif to cancel all the plots given to members of Rwp/Islamabad Press Club. In his letter he said that journalists in Pakistan belong to privileged class, while in fact 98 % of Pakistani journalists deserve sympathy of people, as they are the most depressed class of the society. The journalists in Pakistan are getting the wages of 1996. In most of newspapers they don’t even get their salary even after three months; over 400 journalists were terminated without notice across the country from various newspapers and TV Channels. He never raised voice against this, though he remember to give safe side to media owners.

Ansar Abbasi wrote in his letter that he does not feel good because this plot was given by the government, but he never asked his bosses to move out of the GEO building because this plot was also given to Mir Shakil by the then government. He did not tell the people that previous government gave the status of MODEL VILLAGE to his native town and his brother was given the contract, besides not confess that he resides in a luxury house in the posh sector of Islamabad, and neither that someone gifted three hotels to him at Faizabad. This is not the move of ANSAR ABBASI, but of the media owners to avoid implementation on 7th wage award.IS there anyone to raise voice against this man? ISLAMABAD: The CJ of IHC (Islamabad High Court), Muhammad Bilal Khan has strongly refuted all allegations against himself regarding having any connections with notorious criminal Nannu Gawaria. In a letter dispatched to the SJC (Supreme Judicial Council), the CJ, IHC has taken notice of certain allegations leveled against his person by secretary SJC, on 28th March 2008, as made public through newspapers and videotapes, terming the move as an endeavor to malign his career and reputation, alongwith move against Supreme Judiciary. He has alleged that, since he was a member of the Lahore High Court Bench, which had declared Mian Nawaz Sharif as disqualified, his brother Mian Shahbaz Sharif had used derogatory remarks against him (Justice Bilal Khan) in public gatherings and TV channel interviews. Mian Nawaz Sharif had even gone to the extent of expressing his desire of " thrashing me (Justice Bilal Khan) in the Arabian Sea" he contended, adding that CPO Gujranwala Zulfiqar Cheema was bent on proving his die-hard loyalties to Mian Nawaz Sharif for the sake of his police career.

In his 16-point letter, the CJ, IHC has also accused journalist Ansar Abbassi of mud slinging and stern remarks against Supreme Judiciary, citing his earlier derogatory and highly inflammatory report against former CJ, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in 2007, which perpetuated the reference against CJ (Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry). Again it was Ansar Abbasi, who launched media campaign against the outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan, Abdul Hameed Dogar, he added. He further said that it was yet again none else than Ansar Abbasi, who tried to malign Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Justice Fakir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Shakir Ullah Jan and Justice Tassadaq Hussain Jilani, accusing them of being involved in the so-called plot scandal. This accusation was false, and no action was taken against them. It may be recalled that when the appointment of Justice of Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan as Chief Justice of Pakistan was being talked about, Ansar Abbasi published a write up aimed at raising a controversy about the judge. He said that it is in the same vein that when his predecessor was due to superannuate on 8th of March 2009 and his (Bilal Khan’s) name was being considered as his successor, Ansar Abbasi’s devil instinct once again precipitated. "There is not even an iota of truth in what has been written by Ansar Abbasi, he said, adding that "the material provided to me is deficient in many ways i.e it does not indicate as to when was this person (Faiz Rasool alias Nannu Goraya) present in Dubai, and to which night club I had accompanied them and to which hotel I was taken for the "purpose".

He said that during his last visit to Dubai, his wife and daughter-in-law accompanied him and throughout they stayed together. "It is so interesting that Zulfiqar Cheema used his imagination regarding purchase of a diamond necklace for the marriage of my daughter, although she got married in January 2007 and by the grace of God was blessed with a son in December 2007. "Zulfiqar Cheema even went to the extent of illegally detaining father of Ashfaq Bajwa, who was in such adverse circumstances, approached through Syed Ali Mohsin Naqvi, SP (CIA) to make a statement regarding my alleged links with Nannu Goraya" he said. It was on account of this foreknowledge that the Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, did not deem it appropriate to take any further steps in the matter on the press clippings. It goes without saying that in the entire fake story was cooked up by Zulfiqar Cheema, and the only legal document in the field is the statement of Ashfaq Bajwa made before a Court of law, in the face of which penal action merits to be taken against Zulfiqar Cheema and other concerned police officials.

A bare look at the video footage, worthless as it is, leaves no room for doubt that it has been extracted under extreme pressure, influence and indubitably in a state of total disorientation. He said that the video footage is of no consequence as there is no mechanism to satisfy a judicial mind that the voice recorded is that of the so-called Nanu Goraya nor it is ascertainable that the person shown to have been making the statement was, in fact, the person named Nannu Goraya. A 13-member Bench of the Apex Court had expressed as recently as in the year 2007, it scorn, displeasure and disdain for such like material. The advocate-on-Record attempting to produce such material was not only reprimanded and burdened with fine of Rs. One lac but also had his license suspended. He said that Zulfiqar Cheema was a crafty Police officials, who had also failed to disclose the name of "Sitting MPA (PPP) from Gujranwala city who had allegedly laid information before him and had also withheld the names of the so called dozens of other well informed persons including some journalists. He said that he must state with conviction and faith as a Muslim that the allegations against him were totally false and intended to damage his personal reputation and standing as a judge. "Speaking for myself, if these allegations had an air of truth, I would loath to hang on to the office that I hold, "he held. In its efforts to please the establishment, the media has clearly gone overboard in defending terrorists and a Judiciary that has lost all respect for the Constitution of Pakistan. Pro Establishment channels like GEO, AAJ and ARY have several Islamist extremist anchors who are hell bent in egging on the Judiciary to dismiss an elected Government. Some of these anchors like creepy and wild-eyed Javed Chaudhary even write for Jihadi rags under pseudonyms like Yasir Ahmed Khan.
Lately, their slander against the elected PPP-lead government has reached new levels and after being continually exposed for their lies, the Pakistani media is like the boy who cried wolf utterly devoid of any credibility!. On the other hand Independent media analysts (e.g. Abbas Ather, Nadeem Paracha, Ayaz Amir, Kamran Shafi etc) have directly or indirectly criticized the unprofessional anti-PPP campaign by the Jang Group / Geo TV. The media and journalist community of Pakistan consists largely of sellouts who spewed poison against Bhutto when he was alive. The continued this tradition with Benazir and after shedding a few crocodile tears for her, they have resumed with President Zardari.”
