Saudi Arabia, Syria, Ghazwa-e-Hind and India.

IT’S the season for our worst fears to bloom. As extremist discourse becomes more mainstream, it’s worth considering what price our future bailouts might come at. For a useful illustration, consider the recent visit to Pakistan by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, a country that has played a pivotal role in bailing Pakistan out after the nuclear detonations of May 1998, and bankrolled some amount of cash assistance in the wake of the Kashmir earthquake and the floods. But the communiqué issued after the last visit makes for puzzling reading, to say the least. There was fleeting mention of Palestine, which took up two whole paragraphs in the communiqué issued the last time a top Saudi royal visited a Pakistani head of state. This time we have two paragraphs on Syria, in which Pakistan has clearly been persuaded to take sides in that conflict, and commit itself to the shape of a post-Bashar al-Assad political order. “When contacted, a senior government official insisted that there was no change in Pakistan’s Syria policy. Sources, however, said that in return for supporting Saudi Arabia on Syria, Pakistan is expected to get defence contracts and other economic favours from the oil-rich kingdom,” said a report in a national daily — exactly the sort of language that you expect to see when your government is hiding something from you. A quid pro quo appears to have been worked out. It doesn’t take a close scrutiny of the text of the communiqué to get the point. The season of toppling governments is drawing near, and everybody has their hit list. Our establishment has its eyes on the government that Americans will be leaving behind in Afghanistan, and the Saudis have their eyes on the government of Bashar al-Assad. For Afghanistan, the statement speaks of “support for Afghan reconciliation” as well as the political process and the forthcoming elections. ‘Let Afghanistan be,’ the Saudis seem to be saying, ‘Let’s go get Bashar.’ REFERENCE: Welcome to Jihad Inc.  Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Visits India To Boost Bilateral Defence Tie Ups

Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Visits India To Boost... by SalimJanMazari

March 2014 The visit by Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has imparted fresh momentum to ties between India and Saudi Arabia. The high-profile visit of the Saudi royal, who is also the Kingdom’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, has built on the foundations of two earlier game-changing outings — the visit by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in 2006, which was followed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s trip to Riyadh four years later. Dr. Singh’s 2010 visit resulted in the signing of the Riyadh Declaration, which proclaimed that a “strategic partnership” between New Delhi and Riyadh had been established, spanning diverse fields including energy security, information technology and outer space. The document did not exclude a security element either, signalling that a standalone relationship between India and Saudi Arabia had been anchored, de-hyphenated from Riyadh’s long-standing ties with Islamabad. The signing of a defence pact during the Crown Prince’s visit implies that the focus imparted to military ties, during Defence Minister A.K. Antony’s visit to Saudi Arabia in 2012, has been emphatically retained. An acknowledgement that a new thrust on promoting investments is required augurs well for the evolution of a substantial, multifaceted relationship. Despite their promise, India-Saudi ties will have to be carefully nurtured. On the bilateral side, the welfare of millions of Indian workers in the Kingdom has to be ensured, especially at a time when authorities in Riyadh have embarked on a major undertaking to generate maximum employment for their own nationals, shrinking job opportunities for expatriates. The future of ties between New Delhi and Riyadh would also have to be insulated from the differing perceptions of the two countries of developments in West Asia. Besides, India has to stay clear of the crossfire between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which are at loggerheads on account of the situation in Syria, and whose hostility towards each other has acquired a dangerous sectarian dimension in the region. While it bonds with Riyadh, India has an abiding interest in the simultaneous development of its relationship with Iran, which not only is a major energy-supplier but — after the American withdrawal later this year — is bound to play a pivotal role in Afghanistan. Simultaneously, India has no basis to grudge Saudi Arabia’s “all weather” ties with Pakistan, so long as they do not harm New Delhi’s core interests. In fact, distancing itself from zero-sum expectations, India, if invited, can turn its proximity with Riyadh and Tehran to its advantage, by making its contribution in defusing tensions between the two regional heavyweights. India Wants Saudi Arabia to Pressure Pakistan on Anti-India Terrorism

India Wants Saudi Arabia to Pressure Pakistan... by SalimJanMazari

Saudi Arabia is the world's largest source of funds for Islamist militant groups such as the Afghan Taliban and Lashkar-e-Taiba – but the Saudi government is reluctant to stem the flow of money, according to Hillary Clinton. "More needs to be done since Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support base for al-Qaida, the Taliban, LeT and other terrorist groups," says a secret December 2009 paper signed by the US secretary of state. Her memo urged US diplomats to redouble their efforts to stop Gulf money reaching extremists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. "Donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide," she said. Three other Arab countries are listed as sources of militant money: Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The revelation that Saudi Arabia is the ‘friendly Muslim country’ that deposited $1.5 billion into the Pakistan Development Fund isn’t a surprise. After all, it could hardly have been Yemen or Jordan; they’re not as well-heeled, and nowhere near as friendly. Why the Nawaz Sharif government has been the beneficiary of such largesse is also not a mystery. The connections between Sharif and the Saudis are well-established, from the period in exile, to Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal’s “our man in Pakistan” boast to the Wikileaks cables, alleging Saudi funding for Nawaz Sharif’s 2008 election campaign. The list goes on, detailing the history between the man who has a political party named after him and the family that has a country named after it. Compare the funding to how much the Saudis gave us during the previous government, you know, the one that made the IP pipeline deal with Iran which never materialised. It wasn't not much, I assure you. --- We have a right to know what that bargain is, but once more, this sale is shrouded in secrecy, and secrecy invites speculation. Some allege that the money is to hold off any operation against the Taliban, pointing to the timing of Saudi visits and the peace talks. Others say it is for Pakistan’s support in Syria, the diplomatic end of which we have already witnessed. Still others claim that that is only part of it and that Pakistan has agreed to provide training, arms and possibly even manpower to Saudi-backed rebels fighting in Syria. WikiLeaks Saudi Arabia and UAE funding Terrorism in Pakistan

WikiLeaks Saudi Arabia and UAE funding... by SalimJanMazari

KARACHI: A US official in a cable sent to the State Department stated that “financial support estimated at nearly 100 million USD annually was making its way to Deobandi and Ahl-i-Hadith clerics in south Punjab from organisations in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates ostensibly with the direct support of those governments.” The cable sent in November 2008 by Bryan Hunt, the then Principal Officer at the US Consulate in Lahore, was based on information from discussions with local government and non-governmental sources during his trips to the cities of Multan and Bahawalpur. Quoting local interlocutors, Hunt attempts to explain how the “sophisticated jihadi recruitment network” operated in a region dominated by the Barelvi sect, which, according to the cable, made south Punjab “traditionally hostile” to Deobandi and Ahl-i-Hadith schools of thought. Hunt refers to a “network of Deobandi and Ahl-i-Hadith mosques and madrassahs” being strengthened through an influx of “charity” which originally reached organisations “such as Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Al-Khidmat foundation”. Portions of these funds would then be given away to clerics “in order to expand these sects’ presence” in a relatively inhospitable yet “potentially fruitful recruiting ground”. Outlining the process of recruitment for militancy, the cable describes how “families with multiple children” and “severe financial difficulties” were generally being exploited for recruitment purposes. Families first approached by “ostensibly ‘charitable’” organisations would later be introduced to a “local Deobandi or Ahl-i-Hadith maulana” who would offer to educate the children at his madrassah and “find them employment in the service of Islam”. “Martyrdom” was also “often discussed”, with a final cash payment to the parents. “Local sources claim that the current average rate is approximately Rs 500,000 (approximately USD 6,500) per son,” the cable states. Children recruited would be given age-specific indoctrination and would eventually be trained according to the madrassah teachers’ assessment of their inclination “to engage in violence and acceptance of jihadi culture” versus their value as promoters of Deobandi or Ahl-i-Hadith sects or recruiters, the cable states. Recruits “chosen for jihad” would then be taken to “more sophisticated indoctrination camps”. “Locals identified three centres reportedly used for this purpose”. Two of the centres were stated to be in the Bahawalpur district, whereas one was reported as situated “on the outskirts of Dera Ghazi Khan city”. These centres “were primarily used for indoctrination”, after which “youths were generally sent on to more established training camps in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and then on to jihad either in FATA, NWFP, or as suicide bombers in settled areas”. The cable goes on to quote local officials criticising the PML-N-led provincial and the PPP-led federal governments for their “failure to act” against “extremist madrassas, or known prominent leaders such as Jaish-i-Mohammad’s Masood Azhar”. The Bahawalpur district nazim at the time told Hunt that despite repeatedly highlighting the threat posed by extremist groups and indoctrination centres to the provincial and federal governments, he had received “no support” in dealing with the issue unless he was ready to change his political loyalties. The nazim, who at the time was with the PML-Q, “blamed politics, stating that unless he was willing to switch parties…neither the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz provincial nor the Pakistan People’s Party federal governments would take his requests seriously”. Zaid Hamid, Misuse of Blasphemy Law & Conspiracy Theories

Daily Dawn Pakistan (2000) Convicted for blasphemy - A kind, benevolent and honourable Muslim Sufi of a small order has been sentenced to death on blasphemy charges by a court in Lahore. I am an eyewitness to what happened in the court and how the prosecution murdered justice, human dignity, Islamic and contemporary law and all norms of humanity in the name of Islam. Mohammad Yusuf Ali is a staunch Muslim and a scholar of the Holy Quran. He has rendered meritorious services to Islam, Pakistan and humanity in his career. It was only a difference of interpretation which was exploited by extremist mullahs and some Urdu newspapers. Yusuf Ali had already spent two years in jail and now he has been convicted. I was present in the courtroom to assist the defence lawyers. It was barred to the outside world. I am witness to what happened inside and how he has been convicted. The prosecution had based their case on four items: audio cassette of Juma Khutba, video cassettes of Juma Khutba, Yousuf Ali`s purported diary, and one Pir and his few followers, who claimed that he had claimed to be “Muhammad“ in front of them many years ago! There was nothing objectionable in the cassettes, and even according to Qanoon-i-Shahadat, they were inadmissible, as the one who had made these was not known. They were highly edited, doctored and manipulated. The diary was not of Yusuf Ali`s at all, and even the prosecution admitted that they were not sure of its origin. It had no name, no handwriting match, no owner. It was simply alleged on Yusuf Ali and was torn to shreds in its originality and credibility. The Pir and his followers were again torn to shreds, as none of them was the complainant. They never reported the alleged blasphemy to the police or any other authority, which supposedly happened many years ago. Their credibility did not exist at all in terms of contradictions in cross examinations. One of them was on bail on fraud charges. The complainant had all the info on hearsay. He had never met the accused in his life. All his info was through Urdu newspapers. He accused Yusuf Ali of adultery, but even in the FIR, the relevant section was not mentioned for lack of evidence, making the complainant liable to “Qazaf“. His testimony was not admissible at all. Yusuf Ali had categorically, even before the registration of the FIR, made it clear through paid ads that he had not claimed to be a prophet and he was a staunch Muslim. Top religious scholars like Maulana Abdul Sattar Niazi had declared him a true Muslim and asked the charges to be dropped. According to all legal and Shariat requirements he had proved himself to be a true Muslim. Still the prosecution insisted that he called himself a prophet. How can anyone be the judge of someone`s faith? The prosecution lawyers went so overboard that even the judge had to stop them from committing blasphemy in trying to prove Yusuf Ali wrong. Even though Yusuf Ali was on bail, he was arrested one day earlier against all rules, laws and norms. It is extraordinary how the bail given by a High Court was cancelled by the Sessions Court and the accused was arrested. The whole trial was in camera and the media was not allowed in to hear Yusuf Ali`s explanations, his speeches and comments. The media was also barred from seeing the hopelessness of the prosecution witnesses and their lawyers. It was on this quality of evidence that a great living sufi has been condemned to death on so many counts that we have lost count. Now Yusuf Ali is in the line for gallows. Conspiracy Theorists by Nadeem F. Paracha (Dawn News)

Conspiracy Theorists by Nadeem F... by SalimJanMazari

What are we first of all: Muslim or Pakistani? Is our ultimate commitment with Pakistani citizenship or a global Muslim brotherhood? What kind of Pakistan should we aim at: a progressive multi-ethnic social democracy or some kind of medieval caliphate? FATA continues to be used and abused as a strategic space by the security establishment of Pakistan in violent pursuit of strategic depth in Afghanistan. In short, strategic depth means Pakistan must have a pro-Pakistan government in Afghanistan by any and all means. People of FATA have suffered more than people in any other part of Pakistan due to this policy. They dread and hate ‘strategic depth’. Some people of FATA drew my attention towards Zaid Hamid, who, they said, is a new charm offensive of the military establishment to popularise the notion of strategic depth among the youth from affluent families in the big cities of Pakistan. He is frequently given air time by the electronic media, also an evidence that the media, especially the Urdu media, is not free and has to toe the establishment’s line in security matters. Show biz celebrities have joined him. Those who oppose the strategic depth, especially the Pakhtun, who are the biggest casualty of it, are never given so much media attention. The main concern of the people of FATA vis-a-vis Zaid Hamid is his use of a particularly narrow interpretation of Islam that proposes a belligerent agenda for the Pakistan Army and drawing on controversial Islamic literature. Thus the authenticity of the hadiths — sayings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) — on Ghazwa-e-Hind that he often refers to in terms of the ultimate defeat of the Indians at the hands of the Pakistan Army is highly questionable. Zaid Hamid claims in his speeches to young people that God determines the destiny of Pakistan. Pakistan will become a grand Caliphate. Pakistan army will cut India down to the size of Sri Lanka. Pakistan will lead the entire Muslim world and its army will be deployed in Palestine, Kashmir, Chechnya and Afghanistan. The corrupt judicial system, consisting of the lawyers and the Supreme Court of Pakistan, will be replaced by an Islamic judicial system that would ensure — Taliban style — speedy and cheap justice. He claims that the current elected set up in Pakistan is implanted by the CIA and prophesies that the current rulers in Pakistan will have their dead bodies hanging on poles in Islamabad, an indirect appreciation of what the Taliban did in Afghanistan with the dead body of Dr Najibullah, the then Afghan president. He openly threatens the nationalists, especially the Pakhtun and Baloch nationalists, for their aspirations. The Taliban government in Afghanistan, he declares, was Pakistan-friendly and condemns its removal by the US in the post-9/11 attack on the country. He glorifies the biggest mass murderer of the Pakhtun — General Zia, the former dictator of Pakistan. Judging by the obscurantist message that he communicates, Zaid Hamid does not seem to be a new invention of the establishment. He is an addition to the long list of people who have been handpicked to promote an anti-people agenda in the name of religion and hate of India, like the people from the Jamaat-e-Islami. What seems to be new is his apparent ‘tolerance’ of the ‘un-Islamic’ lifestyle of the urban youth and in this context there are some interesting discussions about Zaid Hamid on some blogs and mailing lists. One blogger writes that Zaid Hamid is using a new strategy to communicate the same old conspiracy theories to young people. The strategy is that unlike classical Islamic scholars, joining Zaid Hamid’s group does not necessarily require the youth to shed their sophisticated lifestyle and adjust to hijab, a ban on music and gender segregation. The only thing they have to do is to glorify the Pakistan Army, including its pursuit of strategic depth, and hate Jews, Americans and Indians. A writer on one of the mailing lists argues that Zaid Hamid is a Pied Piper for our youth from the prosperous sections of Punjab who have no dreams to be proud of. Zaid Hamid sells the dreams of conquering the world, though they are nonsense, yet still work for the youth who are now caught up in an identity crisis, continues the writer. The writer understands that the fault lies with the leftist intellectuals who have lost direction by joining NGOs and leaving the anti-imperialist struggle open for people like Zaid Hamid or Imran Khan. Marvi Sirmed and Zaid Hamid on National Security (Shahid Naama – 25th August 2011)

Marvi Sirmed & Zaid Hamid on National Security... by SalimJanMazari

Zaid Hamid, in his show, sets a dangerous agenda for the youth of Pakistan; the very same youth who are living a comfortable life in poverty-stricken Pakistan. They lack any ambitions in life to give it some purpose. This lack of goals is rooted in the identity crisis being faced by the Pakistani youth. The crisis is expressed in questions like these: what are we first of all: Muslim or Pakistani? Is our ultimate commitment with Pakistani citizenship or a global Muslim brotherhood? What kind of Pakistan should we aim at: a progressive multi-ethnic social democracy or some kind of medieval caliphate? Secondly, one has to strive very hard for ideals. If the ideal is the former (multi-ethnic social democratic Pakistan), the youth from affluent families will have to share their riches with the poor, downtrodden fellow citizens. This is very hard for this class of people, otherwise I would at least have seen them working for bringing normalcy in the shattered lives of the people of FATA, who have been living in deplorable conditions in refugee camps for over two years now. In the latter case (caliphate) they can placate their conscience by attaching themselves with the higher ideal without having to give up something from their comfortable lives. The only thing they have to do is to support the belligerent agenda of the military establishment and their poor fellow Pakistanis can go to hell. Zaid Hamid’s campaign is like opium for the young that makes them run away from reality, i.e. Pakistan is a class-based multi-ethnic society that cannot be held together with mere Islamic rhetoric and military ambitions. What is even more dangerous is the fact that Zaid Hamid is glorifying the same Taliban that the people of FATA hold responsible for their massacre at the behest of the military establishment of Pakistan. Case in point, Jalaluddin Haqqani who occupies North Waziristan. I would invite the young fans of Zaid Hamid to take a tour of FATA, or at least FATA IDP camps in various parts of the NWFP, to observe firsthand what the Taliban and the military did to these people. I would remind the youth that people all over FATA hold the generals of the Pakistan Army more than the Taliban responsible for the death and destruction in their area. They view the Taliban — all Taliban, good, bad, Afghan or Pakistani — as a creation of the intelligence agencies of our country. How much more do the people of FATA need to sacrifice for strategic depth in Afghanistan? The never-ending human sufferings in the area could transform into widespread anti-state sentiments. The youth around Zaid Hamid must know that the current pursuit of strategic depth may turn into — as rightly described in this paper’s editorial ‘Strategic death’? (Daily Times, February 3, 2010) –’strategic death’ for Pakistan rather than securing a friendly Afghanistan. Meet the Conspiracy Theorist Zaid Hamid (Talaash – 20th July 2013 Dunya News)

Meet the Conspiracy Theorist Zaid Hamid... by SalimJanMazari

Zaid Hamid and his followers will not shy away from using religious texts of doubtful authenticity, with totally wrong and self-serving interpretations, to promote war. But the Pakistani youth is no more willing to be at the receiving end of this twisted interpretation of Islam -- Zaid Hamid is the latest tool in the arsenal of the Pakistani security establishment to misguide, brainwash and indoctrinate the Pakistani youth, to win support for its belligerent agenda. To achieve his nefarious designs, especially to instill bellicosity and flare up anti-India emotions, Zaid Hamid delivers sermons on private television channels, gives inteviews and holds seminars and workshops in universities to impress and influence impressionable young minds. In order to authenticate his message of attacking and conquering India, Zaid Hamid repeats, ad nauseum, a set of ahadith [sayings of the Prophet (PBUH)] of doubtful authenticity about Ghazwa-i-Hind. Through such a medium, he tries to make his audience and viewers believe that conquering India is indeed a sacred duty of the Pakistani Muslims. Most religious scholars do not consider these ahadith to be authenic. Some who do consider them authentic say that the predictions and prophecies made in them have already been fulfilled during the first century of Islam, and are not at all applicable to what Zaid Hamid would like us to believe — the invasion of India by Pakistan. These scholars contend that none of these ahadith are found in the ahadith books considered to be the most authentic by the Sunnis, books like Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Daud, Ibn-i-Maja, Tirmidhi and Muwatta. Two of these ahadith appear in the collections of ahadith by Imam Nisai but not in Sunan an-Nisai al Sughra, the book considered to be among the Sihah-e-Sitta. The others are not even found in the reliable collections of respected muhadiseen (compilers of ahadith). These scholars also argue that Imam Nisai died in 915, after the death of all other respected muhadiseen to whom Sihah-e-Sitta are attributed. It, therefore, does not make much sense that we have these ahadith being narrated through Imam Nisai, but not through any of the other respected muhadiseen who lived before him.  Ejaz Haider on Zaid Hamid (Bay Laag Capital TV )

Ejaz Haider on Zaid Hamid (Bay Laag Capital TV ) by SalimJanMazari

Another argument put forward by these learned men is that the chain of narrators of these ahadith contains people like Baqiyyah, Asad ibn Musa and Hushaim who have been declared as unreliable, untrustworthy and abominable by experts like Al-Zahabiy, Ibn Hajar and Al-Uqaily. It is clear that not even one of these chains of narrators consists of people who are reliable enough for us to say, with any degree of confidence, that the narratives under consideration are correctly ascribed to the Prophet (PBUH). They also add that, considering the reward for participating in this war and the importance of it, as these ahadith tell, they should have been narrated by more companions of the Prophet (PBUH) and should have been included in more books of the ahadith. These scholars also draw attention to the fact that none of these ahadith are found in any of the collections of ahadith, which the Shia Muslims consider authentic. This raises the question: did the Ummayads/Abbasids, considering their expansionist designs, invent them? It should also be noted that the Ummayads did reach Sindh, a part of Hind back then. Many scholars believe that it is possible that these ahadith are not genuine at all and that they might have been fabricated at the time of Muhammad bin Qasim’s invasion of Sindh in order to justify it. These scholars also note the fact that we do not have any historical report telling us about the use of these ahadith in the past by Muslim rulers or conquerors, even those who did invade India or waged a war on it and claimed to do it for religious purposes. If they were respected and authentic ahadith, we should have such historical reports. It would have been very easy for Muslim conquerors of India like Mahmud of Ghazni, Shihabuddin Ghauri, Timur, Nadir Shah and so on, to present the ahadith about the Ghuzwa-i-Hind, and use them to justify their attacks on the country. The scholars associated with their courts could well have suggested these to them had they wished. However, no such mention is made about this in history books. In the 18th century, the well-known Islamic scholar Shah Waliullah of Delhi invited the Afghan king, Ahmad Shah Abdali to invade India and drive out the Marathas, which he accepted, yet Shah Waliullah, too, did not use these ahadith as a part of his argument. Those who consider these authentic argue that the battle against India that these ahadith predicted was fulfilled in the early Islamic period itself, and is not something that will happen in the future. They also add that it is quite likely that the predicted Ghuzwa-i-Hind took the form of an attack by an Arab Muslim force on Thana and Bharuch, in coastal western India, in the 15th year of the Hijra calendar, during the reign of the Caliph Umar. Some scholars also argue that these ahadith could, possibly, have been fulfilled in the form of missionary efforts by some of the Prophet’s (PBUH) companions soon after, during the reign of the Caliphs Usman and Ali, in Sindh and Gujarat. Other ulema consider these predictions to have been fulfilled in the form of the attack and occupation of Sindh by Arab Muslims, led by Muhammad bin Qasim in the 93rd year of the Islamic calendar, which then facilitated the spread of Islam in the country. In any case, these ahadith do not talk about Pakistanis fighting Indians. They talk about Arabs on an expedition to India, after which they conquer it. The above clearly shows the extent to which Zaid Hamid and his supporters will go to further their agenda. They will not shy away from using religious texts of doubtful authenticity, with totally wrong and self-serving interpretations, to promote war. But the Pakistani youth is no more willing to be at the receiving end of this twisted interpretation of Islam, as was amply demonstrated by the students of Islamia College University, Peshawar, when Zaid Hamid tried to address them. Conspiracy theories and their authors become a cause for concern when they begin to hallucinate and can no longer distinguish between their own flights of imagination and the world around them. When they hijack a whole nation or community into another world, then they ought to be held accountable These are very troubled times. Such times are a bonanza for conspiracy theorists because they know how best to simplify extremely complex situations while simultaneously grossly exaggerating the evil ingenuity of the plotters, and thus create thorough confusion. If such confusion can generate panic, then the conspiracy theorist has earned his living through real hard work. The art then is to top it off with an ending that results in the defeat of the evildoers. Such stuff is the bread and butter of writers of mystery stories and thrillers. Their works help shed everyday boredom, even if only for the moment. Conspiracy theories and their authors become a cause for concern when they begin to hallucinate and can no longer distinguish between their own flights of imagination and the world around them. If such delirious moments only carry them into a world of make-believe, then the harm is limited. However, when they hijack a whole nation or community into another world, then they ought to be held accountable. When such characters appear in popular talk shows or, much worse, begin exploiting TV channels to present programmes full of war games and prophecies against a demonised group of plotters threatening the existence of a nation — nay, a universal community such as that of the Muslims — then I believe such persons should be held accountable for taking people on a ride with their yarns. By now the readers must have guessed that I have no other person in mind other than Mr Zaid Hamid. Initially I was reluctant to comment on the farce he pedals in his talks and his TV programmes. The reason is that one can end up giving more importance to individuals than is due. On the other hand, the danger is that the angst and fears that run deep in Pakistani society will push our society even deeper into a pathological state of mind or national outlook. The daily bomb blasts by remote control or by suicide bombers, the galloping rate of unemployment and politicians who specialise in making a mockery of democracy and responsible governments have taken a huge toll on the spirits of the Pakistani people. Last year when I visited Lahore I took a long walk beginning from Anarkali up to Lohari Gate and then eastwards till I came to Mochi Gate. Then I walked down to Gawalmandi, from there I went down Nisbet Road till I came to Lakshmi Chowk. I can tell you that for the first time in my life I felt that Lahore was in mourning. People could not take any longer all the betrayal of hopes for a Pakistan without want and hunger. Mr Zaid Hamid’s grand conspiracy has a happy ending, however. The Muslim world and the Islamic Ummah in general and Pakistan in particular are the victims of a Zionist-Brahminical-CIA-Mossad-RAW-MI5-MI6, and all the rest, plot, according to this celebrated defence and security analyst. Our only true friend is China. The latter of course is still wedded to Marxism-Leninism and thus to atheism, but that does not matter. Just as there are good and bad Taliban, there can be good and bad atheists. Is that not logical? Once upon a time, I remember, the Chinese with their special eye shape and high cheekbones, we were told, were the people that Islam would fight, also accordingly to some prophecies. That was of course when Pakistan and China had not become friends, whose friendship was later described as higher than the Himalayas. So, there is a season for prophecies — some come in while others go out. Mr Zaid Hamid tells us not to worry. Pakistan is a nuclear power and the defeat of Hind (India) has been prophesied 1,400 years ago. It will not only be the end of India but Israel and the US and all other evil powers, including Russia. Pakistan and China and some true Muslims will triumph in the final father of all battles — the mother of all battles is dead since a long time, I believe. Hopefully then we will convert all the Chinese, otherwise what is the point? What will happen to all the nuclear weapons that the enemies of Islam possess? Their total is in the thousands! Well, they will become un-useable or explode in their own countries so the Islamic forces will not be responsible for the genocide of billions of members of the human race. In any case, such details, which disturb the elegance of a simple but sensational conspiracy theory, have to be ignored. The green flag will fly atop the Delhi Fort as it should have had we not created Pakistan and denied ourselves that opportunity 63 years earlier. Is there any chance that such prophecy may not hold or rather that no such prophecy has existed in the past and it has been manufactured by Mr Zaid Hamid to support his grand theory, which has already declared a Muslim victory? I think such questions should suffice to explain to interested readers to distinguish between conspiracies and conspiracy theories. Attributing so much power to the Zionists or Mossad also makes no sense. The way Mossad has messed up its crime in Dubai when a hit squad was sent to assassinate a Hamas leader only shows that such an agency cannot sometimes manage even simple operations. RAW is even less likely to pull off an attack on Pakistan with impunity. Recently the Taliban killed a number of CIA operatives in Afghanistan. If Mossad-Raw-CIA were to join ranks, would they perform better or is it likely that in the absence of a common chain of command they can mess up things even more? I do not know. But I do know that neither Mr Zaid Hamid nor his theory allow for an error, and in any case whatever initial advantage these evil agencies and powers may have, our victory is a foregone conclusion. That is exactly a conspiracy theory. Another thing to keep in mind is the following: conspiracies by their very nature are secretive and oftentimes catch their targets off-guard. ‘Et tu, Bruté?’ (Even you, Brutus?), exclaimed Julius Caesar, as his best friend joined other plotters and stabbed him to death. Of course his (Julius Caesar’s) wife, Calpurnia, had been seeing such a nightmare many times, Shakespeare informed his readers. So, maybe one can see visions about such happenings. In any case, conspiracy theories that have already exposed the culprits and punished them and defeated them are just flights of the imagination, or, could be deep dives into a bottomless void inside the belly of the earth. Zaid Hamid, Saints, Knowledge of Unseen & Ghazwa-e-Hind.‏

Sudden switched off of Zaid Hamid is because he was bad for business like "Aman Ki Asha" and Religion was used as an excuse otherwise Private Pakistani TV Channels are not the Epitome of Islami Shariah and openly relay many programs which are remotely religion. Question is why Religion was used instead of arguments to counter Zaid on his Anti-Indian Rhetoric. Another thing which is to be noticed that the slain Mufti Saeed Jalalpuri was the same Mufti who issued Fatwa against the alleged "Caliph of Zaid Hamid i.e. Yousuf" and since the days of General Zia, Mullahs never sat silently after the killing of fellow Mullah and that too when the Mullah was involved in a case related with Blasphemy. There is something else we are missing here, because Yousuf [Alleged Slain False Prophet] was in General Zia's Majlis-e-Shoora. Why there is so hush hush on FIR and no TV Channel raised hue and cry. What I am trying to convey was a fact that cannot be denied that under George Bush/Musharraf, worst kind of Mullah Calamity took part in election from jails, wage "Jihad" in Afghanistan, now read about first two years of Musharraf's Martial Law [read the details attentively] that Sufi Mohammad, Masood Azhar, Binnori Town, and Lashkar were not only being supported officially but being defended as well and Musharraf did that right under the nose of everyone [History 1999 to 911] "LIES"of General [R] Pervez Musharraf, Sharifs & Talibans. http://chagataikhan.blogspot.com/2010/03/liesof-general-r-pervez-musharraf.html

One would remember that arrival of Zaid Hamid on TV Channels was during those days when Military Establishment was in deep trouble [Lal Masjid Days] and situation in WANA was unbearable [that too is also because of Military Establishment policy from 1999 to 911]. Question is as to why Mr Zaid Hamid receive so-much air time on a TV Channel [NEWSONE/TV ONE] which is owned by a very Liberal [actual and harsh term is censored here] Media Person who often arrange music parties [mix gathering] at the rooftop??? A very simple solution to counter such Fascists and i.e. Reading History, Quran/Hadith [plain Quran/Hadith], recent History of War in Afghanistan and then nobody would be able to fool anyone what to talk of Zaid Hamid.

Tahir A Khan Owner of NEWSONE/TV ONE - Amazing is this that he is being followed by Literate people belonging to middle class and that is very disturbing. What amazes me the most that Mr Zaid Hamid is/was invited on many channels and from start to end talks continuously [particularly on BrassTacks launched on TVONE/NEWSONE] without any moderation or any counter question from the host [most of the time Female - where is the veil???? from the Islam of whose Glory Mr Zaid want to revive]. In one of the Final Episode of that Program on NEWSONE a grand episode was telecast as a conclusion wherein several leading journalists [often appear on different TV Channels as "Expert"], 2 Retired Military Officers [often appear as "Defence Analyst"] and one leading Editor of an English Financial Daily who used to be a Host on the same TV Channel and Newscaster/”Financial Expert” of the same Channel participated and they were asking questions [rather putting words in the mouth of Mr Zaid Hamid] the same words/theories on which Mr Zaid Hamid is very fond of lecturing. All the guests most of time were sitting like “Summun, Bukmun, Umyun” [Deaf Dumb Blind] and listening to the Lecture of Born Again David Koresh or Rev. Jim Jones of Pakistan. Historian are often critiques and it is good to be a critique when you write a History. Zaid Hamid’s Faith [if he says that he is a Muslim then matter ends here until he openly announced otherwise and tell Muslim to follow him then he can be dealt according to Law and should not be touched by anybody except Law] but when he start sermoning Pakistani Public on TV Channels with Wild Stories while completely and conveniently forgetting Follies Committed by our Military Establishment [played havoc like Hulegu Khan and Golden Horde in every sphere of Pakistan] then he must be questioned on ground realities. There is a very thin line between Zaid Hamid’s Methodology and Fascism.

Zaid Hamid Buries the Yusuf 'Kazzab' Myth - The TRUTH 6-6 (ORIGINAL)

URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7owM_U3ySQ

In the above video of “Zaid Hamid Buries the Yusuf ‘Kazzab’ Myth had issued Fatwa of Takfeer against the State of Pakistan. I wonder how would one defend this latest “Whiplashing by Zaid”, there may not be good Muslims in State/Establishment [Being Fasiq and Fajir doesn't make you a Kaafir] but Zaid knows better and declaring whole system based on “Kufr” and if that is so then why Mawdudi, Mufti Mehmood and other Mawlvis signed on 1973 Constitution and Parliament adopted it.

I am not attacking Zaid Hamid’s Faith [indeed I have quoted the the source in the very start of this thread]. Zaid Hamid is quoting Abdus Sattar Niazi so let me quote an incident of General Ayub tenure about that Rampant Mullah Abdul Sattar Niazi. Sattar Niazi was vociferous on the matter of riba. But he is sticking to his central portfolio. The maulana has been known to compromise his position in the past. Perhaps, public memory will recall the incident when he shaved his beard in the Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore to evade arrest in Ayub Khan’s time and escaped by wearing a burqa [veil]. Maulana Abdul Sattar Khan Niazi http://www.senate.gov.pk/ShowMemberDetail.asp?MemberCode=300&CatCode=0&CatName=

However, Zaid Hamid is correct to the hilt about the Calamity of Issuing Fatwa of Takfeer [Apostasy] by Mullah against each other [same are issuing Fatwa against Zaid], instead of replying Zaid Hamid through Arguments/References [academic reply], Anarchic War Mongers Sectarians Pakistani Mullahs from every SECT [Are sects allowed in Islam] to justify their Campaign against Zaid Hamid. If we accept the Fatwas of Pakistani Mullahs [Deobandi, Barelvi, Wahabis, Jamati and Shias] against Yousuf Ali as a Genuine Fatwa then what about the “Fatwas” issued by the very same Maulvis against each other and that too of “Apostasy – Takfeer”. May Allah help and Guide all of us and have mercy on this Mullah Class. Zaid Hamid: Naimatullah Shah Wali Eps 2 Part 5/5

URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htB2ALDDW3I

Zaid Hamid in the above video making his point through the alleged prediction of some Alleged Saint Naimatullah Shah Wali and these are not only against against Quran and Hadith the Historical Facts which were presented by Mr Zaid Hamid were also wrong to the hilt, he is declaring 1857 a Jihad whereas during 1857 uprising there were many Hindus and Sikhs also participated in the same. Jihad cannot be fought by Non-Muslims. He is saying that Raj discourage Madressah and promoted English [what about Translation of Quran done by many Scholars in English and Hadith as well]

Whereas in reality Shah Waliullah Dehelvi’s son Shah Abdul Aziz issued a Fatwa for Muslim to learn and study English and there is no sin in it. This Fatwa was issued much earlier before Sir Syed Ahmed Khan [Ref: Rood-e-Kauthar and Aab Kauthar by Sheikh Ikram]

Zaid is almost attributed “Knowledge of Unseen” to Naimatullah Shah Wali [narrating that he foretold everything about Great Game through prophesy]: Whereas Lord says:

I say not unto you: “I have the treasures of Allah” nor “I have knowledge of the Unseen,” nor say I: “Lo! I am an angel!” Nor say I unto those whom your eyes scorn that Allah will not give them good – Allah knoweth best what is in their hearts – Lo! then indeed I should be of the wrong-doers. [HUD (HUD) Chapter 11 - Verse 31]

Prophecies were given to Prophets [PBUT] by Allah to establish the Hujjat [Proof] of Prophethood and “Syed Naimatullah Wali”’s Influx [Kashf] are not Hujjat [Proof] for Muslims:

Due to ignorance people doesnot make a distinction of the true nature of Prophethood, does not make a distinction between a Prophet and an astrologer, and so he compares the Prophethood of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the astrology of the French physicist Nostradamus who lived in the 16th century CE and composed books of fantasies and illusions. His books are written in ambiguous language about events that will happen up until the end of the world, which he expected would happen in the year 3797. A person like this needs to understand the true nature of Prophethood and why mankind needs to believe in it, and he needs to know that the Unseen can only be known through the Prophets who were chosen by Allaah. He needs to know that Prophethood is a gift from Allaah, may He be glorified, and it cannot be attained by a person’s desires or own efforts. Prophethood is a pure blessing from Allaah, as is indicated in His words

(interpretation of the meanings):

“Those were they unto whom Allaah bestowed His Grace from along the Prophets, of the offspring of Adam, and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Nooh…” [Maryam 19:58]

Tirmidhi Shareef is translated in Urdu by Late. Maulana Badi-uz-Zaman and he while explaining the Prophecies of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] regarding Last Days [Qayamat] had added a separate margin for False Prophets and Imposters, while narrating and interpreting a Hadith [repeated in many books] that there would 20 and in some narration 30 False Dajjal before the genuine Dajjal i.e. Maseeh Ad Dajjal [Anti-Christ], Mawlana had started telling through reliable reports about such persons from Museelima Kazzab to Abdullah Chakralwi in India. So such Dajjal often appear to deviate Muslims from Correct Manhaj [Methodology] of Monotheism [Tawheed].

Naimatullah Shah Wali is declaring that “Ilmul Jufr” Numerology as a branch of “Wisdom” whereas this “Ilmul Jufr” is outright “Shirk” Polytheism and even Shia scholar says that it is attributed to Imam Jafar Sadiq [May Allah have mercy on his soul]: Imam Jaffer Sadiq, Numerology, Astrology and Palmistry. http://chagataikhan.blogspot.com/2009/03/imam-jaffer-sadiq-numerologyastrology.html

Prophecies:

وَكَذَلِكَ يَجْتَبِيكَ رَبُّكَ وَيُعَلِّمُكَ

(interpretation of the meanings):

“Thus will your Lord choose you…” [Yoosuf 12:6]

قَالَ يَا مُوسَى إِنِّي اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالاَتِي وَبِكَلاَمِي

(interpretation of the meanings):

“… I have chosen you above men by My Messages and by My speaking (to you)…” [al-A’raaf 7:144]

اللّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ

(interpretation of the meanings):

“… Allaah knows best with whom to place His Message…” [al-An’aam 6:124]

Then he should realize that the way in which Allaah conveys His message to His Prophets and Messengers is by wahy (revelation) . Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

(interpretation of the meanings):

إِنَّا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ كَمَا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى نُوحٍ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ مِن بَعْدِهِ

“Verily, We have inspired you (O Muhammad) as We inspired Nooh and the Prophets after him…” [al-Nisa’ 4:163].

There is nothing wrong with explaining to him the three types or levels of wahy so that he may have a better understanding of this channel of communication between Allaah and His creation, which is so essential for mankind. These three types or levels have been mentioned by Allaah in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning):

(interpretation of the meanings):

وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِن وَرَاء حِجَابٍ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًا فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذْنِهِ مَا
يَشَاء إِنَّهُ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ

“It is not given to any human being that Allaah should speak to him unless (it be) by Inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise.” [al-Shooraa 42:51]

Prophecies:

These three types or levels may be further explained as follows:

Inspiring something in the heart of a Prophet in such a way that he has no doubt about it and is certain that it is from Allaah. It was reported in a hadeeth that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The holy spirit (i.e., Jibreel) blew into my heart that no soul dies until its provision (rizq) and appointed time have expired, so fear Allaah and be polite and reasonable when you seek to earn a living from others.” (Reported by Ibn Hibbaan). This type of revelation also includes the visions of the Prophets, which are true, as is proven in the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah Umm al-Mu’mineen (may Allaah be pleased with her) who said: “The first thing that happened to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) of wahy was true vision in his dreams: he did not see something but it would become as true as daybreak.” (Agreed upon – Riaz As Saaleheen).

Therefore the Prophet and Friend of Allaah, Ibraaheem, hastened to sacrifice his son when he saw that he was commanded to do so in a dream. He took this dream as being a revelation to him, as Allaah tells us (interpretation of the meaning):

(interpretation of the meanings):

“So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said, ‘O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offering you in sacrifice to Allaah), so look what you think!’ He said: ‘O my father! Do that which you are commanded, in sha Allaah (if Allaah will) you will find me of al-saabireen (the patient ones).’ Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allaah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead, for slaughtering) , And We called out to him: ‘O Ibraaheem! You have fulfilled the dream (vision)! Verily, thus do We reward the muhsinoon (good-doers) . Verily, that was a manifest trial, And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (a ram).” [al-Saaffaat 37:101-107]

Speaking to His Messengers from behind a barrier. Allaah spoke thus to Moosa, upon whom be peace, as He says (interpretation of the meanings):

وَلَمَّا جَاء مُوسَى لِمِيقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ

(interpretation of the meanings):

“And when Moosa came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord spoke to him…” [al-A’raaf 7:143]

(interpretation of the meanings):

Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: “Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance.” “And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name, ‘O Moosa! Verily, I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. Verily, I am Allaah! None has the right to be worshipped but I, so worship Me, and perform al-salaat (prayer) for My Remembrance.’”[Ta-Ha 20:10-14]

Revelation to a Prophet via an angel. This is what Allaah refers to in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًا فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذْنِهِ

“… or He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His leave…” [al-Shoora 42:51].

This messenger is Jibreel, upon whom be peace. The angel came to the Prophet in three forms as is proven in the shar’i texts. These three forms are:

The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw him in the form in which Allaah created him. This happened to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) twice.

The revelation came with a noise like the sound of a bell, which went away after the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had understood what he had said.

The angel appeared in the form of a man and spoke to him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) understood what he said. This was the easiest of the three ways for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). This what happened the first time Jibreel came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in the Cave of Hira’.

Imam Bukhari reported: “Ibraaheem ibn al-Mundhir told me that Ma‘n told us that Maalik told me, from ‘Abdullaah ibn Deenaar from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allaah (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: ‘The keys of the Unknown are five, which no-one knows except Allaah: no-one knows what will happen tomorrow except Allaah; no-one knows what is in the wombs except Allaah; no-one knows when it will rain except Allaah; no-one knows in which land he will die; and no-one knows when the Hour will begin except Allaah.” (Saheeh al-Bukhaari)

He also reported it with the wording: “The keys of the Unseen are five:

‘Verily, Allah! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He send down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily Allaah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things)’ [Luqmaan 31:34].” (Saheeh al-Bukhaari)

Read and ponder on the document below because Zaid was quoting from it. Qaseeda Naimatullah Shah Wali http://www.scribd.com/doc/15012325/Qaseeda-Naimatullah-Shah-Wali

Do read the Verse [Poetic Verse] on page 9 in Persian and this verse is riddled with Shirk [Polytheism] on page 23 it is attributed that Naimatullah Shah Wali is aware of Unkown [Yaani Allah kay Ghayb say Ashna Hain] – This one verse is more than enough to put anybody in trouble of Judgement Day.

On the very first page right after “Khutba-e-Masnoona” prescribed Sermon [as in Hadith], the so called Shah Wali attributed “Qualities which are only suitable for Allah” with Mohammad [PBUH]. What this “Wali” has done is that he mixed truth with the falsehood.

On page 3 Shah Wali quoted a Persian Verse of Jalaluddin Rumi wherein “Shah Wali” has again repeated a “Kufr” Disbelief i.e.

“QUOTE”

“There is no difference between Allah and His Wali”

“UNQUOTE”

You decide whether such “Trash” is even worthy to be quote.

Naimatullah Shah Wali on page 45 of his “Qaseeda” predicted about the “Victory” in 1965 War without predicting that brain behind this war was Quadiyanis Brigadier Akhter Hussain Malik and above all War was not won. Naimatullah Shah Wali on page 49 of his “Qaseeda” is predicting that “Beautiful Grils” and “Femme Fatals” will be captured after capturing Ganges and Jamna. Alas! Naimat will be cursing in his grave [if there ever was any Naimat at all] for missing the “heavenly booties” and by the way Naimat “forgot to mention” Hummood ur Rehman Commission Report and Kargil Retreat.

On page 51 Naimatullah Shah Wali says that “Imam Mahdi” will apear but he didn’t clear on thing i.e. Would it be Shia Imam Mahdi or Sunni Imam Mahdi??? that Qaseeda was published in 1972 when Faisalabad was Lyalpur.

On page 4 of Qaseeda Naimatullah Shah Wali http://www.scribd.com/doc/15012325/Qaseeda-Naimatullah-Shah-Wali , the alleged “Peer Naimat” is quoting Sheikh Al Akbar Ibn ‘Arabi [A Renowned Sufi who believed in Wahdatul Wajood means Allah and His creation are part of Allah - Pantheism]

“QUOTE”

Aqeedah Ibn ‘Arabi wa Hayaatuhu by Taqiy al-Deen al-Faasi

Some confusing words of Ibn ‘Arabi were mentioned to our master Shaykh al-Islam Siraaj al-Deen al-Balqeeni, and he was asked about Ibn ‘Arabi. Our Shaykh al-Balqeeni said: he is a kaafir.[Ibn-e-Hajar Asqalani]

Among these Sufis are: Ibn ‘Arabi, Ibn Saba’een, Ibn Barrajaan and their followers who follow their path and their religion. They have many books in circulation that are filled with blatant kufr and repugnant bid’ahs, trying to interpret clear texts in very far-fetched and repugnant ways, such that the reader is astounded that anyone could attribute such things to Islam. [Ibn Khaldoon]

These later Sufis, such as Ibn ‘Arabi and his followers, are misguided and ignorant and beyond the pale of Islam; those among them who have knowledge are even worse. [Al-Subki]

Undoubtedly the famous book Al-Fusoos contains blatant kufr, as does al-Futoohaat al-Makkiyyah. If it is true that he wrote this and continued to believe in it until he died, then he is a kaafir who is doomed to eternity in Hell, no doubt about it. [Abu Zar’ah ibn al-Haafiz al-‘Iraaqi]

Not a single word was mine, I have read some part of Fusus al-Hikam The Bezels of Wisdom and Al-Futūḥāt al-Makkiyya by Ibn Arabi and believe me it wasn’t a good thing to read and what is more Funny that several leading Scholars of Indo-Pak declare Ibn Arabi – a great saint particularly Barelvis and Deobandis as well.

Zahid Hamid and many others Misinterprets the Hadith of Ghazwa-e-Hind!

Hafiz Ibn Kathir [Author of Tafseer Ibn Kathir] in his another book “Al Bidaya Wan Nihaya” [From the Beginning to End]’s last Volume “Al Nihaya Wal Bidaya” had discussed this Hadith of Ghazwa-e-Hind and in total had given names of more than one such Islami Military Campaigns on Hind [many Deobandis and other Mullahs in India and Pakistan too are now being apologetically say that many campaigns were not for the sake of Islam - what a joke] . The commentary by Ibn-e-Kathir [Mohaddis] on that “Ghazwa-e-Hind Hadith is worth reading and he interpreted that Hadith [with Historical References and Health of the Narrators' Chain] and clearly written that all those Islamic Armies who launched expedition on Hind [Ibn Kathir was an Scholar of Hadith and History and his School of Thought was of same which is now followed in Saudi Arabia and Wahabi Belt] were Jihad and he included Mohammad Bin Qasim and Mahmood Bin Subugtagin [Mehmood Ghaznavi] and many other Turks Kings. He included China and Central Asia while interpreting these Hadiths. [Reference: Authenticity of Hadiths anc Narrators get Al Taqreeb by Ibn Hajar Asqalani.] - Hafiz Ibn Kathir also put a a detailed Note on Hazrat Muawiya’s [RA] Expedition of Constantinople as Jihad [and gave evidence of Bukhari].

And before Muhammad Bin Qasim’s Army.

Abdullah Shah Ghazi is considered to be patron saint of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The dargah of Abdullah Shah Ghazi is located in Clifton neighborhood of Saddar Town in Karachi. The real name of Abdullah Shah Ghazi was Abdulla bin Nahban and he was a General in Umayyad Army who died at Debal while trying to conquer Sindh in 711 CE. This army was led by Abdulla bin Nahban and Badil bin Tuhfa, respectively and were both defeated at Debal. According to Dr. Daud Pota the tomb of Abdullah Shah at Clifton in Karachi is of this General, Abdulla bin Nabhan. [Nuzahat ul Khawatir by Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi Former Head of Daul Uloom Deoband and his father Abdul Hai Nadvi]

Hadith of Ghazawa-e-Hind is narrated by Hazrat Thuban [May Allah be pleased with him] in Sunnan Nisa’i Chapter Ghazwatul Hind] wherein Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] had said

“QUOTE”

“Muslims would wage a Jihad in Hind and if it happens in my [PBUH] life then I [PBUH] will spent my [PBUH] life and money and I [PBUH] am martyred then I will be “Chief of Martyr” and If I return alive then I will be like Abu Huraira [May Allah be pleased with him] who is free from Hell.

All narrators in the chain of narration are truthful [in Arabic Term for Hadith Narrator is "Thiqqa and Saduq"] but one narrator’s background is unknown “Majhool ul Hal” and his name was Abu Bakar Al Zubaidi. [Al Taqreeb by Asqalani, Al Kashif by Imam Zahbi, Sahih Jameh As Sagher by Albani with the reference of Musnad Ahmed, and Imam Muqdasi's Zia Mukhtara] – Read two comment wherein I have quote Haifz Ibn-e-Kathir and his commentary on this Hadith to clear the confusion.

Another View:

Basically some Shias murdered the Ummayad’s Governor of Mekran and took shelter in Sindh with Raja Dahar hence the campaign against Sindh launched by Hajjaj Bin Yousuf [Governor Basra] and Father In Law as well as Paternal Uncle of Muhammad Bin Qasim and when Hajjaj died the next Caliph called Muhammad Bin Qasim back and imprisoned him and tortured him to death in Wasit Prison of Iraq [Tareekh Ibn-e-Khladun] – The only ancient source on Sindh History is Chach Nama but there are many versions by different names Fateh nama Sindh, Tarekh-e-Hind wa Sindh, The Chach Nama was written by Kàzí Ismáíl . Kází Ismàíl was appointed the first Kází of Alór by Muhammad Kásim after the conquest of the place.

Hakeem Bin Jabala [May Allah be pleased with him] visited Sindh on the order of Hazrat Uthman [May Allah be pleased with him] during his tenrue and he gave report that any expedition on Sindh would be fatal due to harsh weather and hostile population {Reference: The Lions of the Forest and the knowledge about the Companions (Arabic: Usud al-Ghabah fi Ma'rifah al-Sahabah by Ali 'Izz al-Din Ibn al-Athir al-Jazari). Please keep one thing in Mind that First Islamic Army rather a Trade Delegation had arrived in South India [Malabar] during the Rule of Hazrat Uthman [May Allah be pleased with him] – The first ship bearing Muslim travelers was seen on the Indian coast as early as 630 AD. H.G. Rawlinson, in his book: Ancient and Medieval History of India claims the first Arab Muslims settled on the Indian coast in the last part of the 7th century AD. In September 2000, eminent Pakistani historian Mubarak Ali wrote an article, “How Many Qasims, Ghaznavis, and Ghoris Do We Need?” analyzing the valorization of Arabs and Turks who ravished the land that is now Pakistan, in school textbooks. Ali observed that Muhammad bin Qasim, Mahmud of Ghazni and Shihabuddin Ghori emerged as powerful symbols in Muslim politics in the context of the 1930s’ communal atmosphere in India, but their continued aggrandizement had disastrous consequences for Pakistan.

Back to present days:

Zaid and other Mullahs [they misinterpret Ghazaw-e-Hind Hadith and this misinterpretation was started by Maulana Akram Awan before the start of Kargil to hound Nawaz Shairf - Akram Awan's party accept disciples in their Jamat after they take approval from Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and that too after arranging a meeting of would be disciple with Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) just imagine Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is dead and dead don't come back]. Let me tell you one more thing Akram Awan have two more important member in his Jamat i.e. Major General (R) Zahirul Islam and Brig {R} Mustansir Billah [both were fixed in a false case of Treason by a Former General and DG of MI i.e Ali Quli Khan]. Ali Kuli Khan wanted to become COAS therefore he designed this whole conspiracy case against Abbasi and Billa that they are paving way for Islamic Revolution in the country [go through the newspapers/magainzens (Pakistani) from 1990 to 1994] but Al Quli Khan couldn’t become COAS. These Officers had also approached Mufit Nizamuddin Shamzai [May Allah have mercy on his soul - Chief of Binnori Town Karachi] for his help and also Mawlana Yousuf Ludhiyanvi [May Allah have mercy on his soul] and asked for help for Islamic Revolution and both of these officers got a very befitting replies from both the Scholars In their own words

Here is Sheikh Muhammad Akram Awan of Ghazwa-e-Hind and his website: http://www.naqshbandiaowaisiah.com/index.html http://www.ghazwatulhind.com/

Note: In the first URL that there is A SEAL of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] is pasted on the left side of the website [Copy of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)'s Seal is engraved] whereas Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] had stopped us to remake that seal [Bukhari].

I wonder since when Sufis of Naqshabandi Owaisi Order started talking in the term of “Strategic Depths”?

Can he prove Sufism through Quran and Hadith because the word itself a Bida’at [Innovation] and appeared 2 centuries after the death of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH].

Shaikh Silsilah Naqshbandiah Owaisiah http://owaisiah.com/

These nincompoops often forget that Siljoq, Tughlaq, Ghaznavis, Lodhis, Behman, Mughals invaded/occupied/ruled parts of India and some of them large parts of India and ruled over India successfully [and killed each other like dogs despite being Muslims] particularly the Mughals ruled India with impunity for more than 200 years. What would be the status of their Armies and their War. They are least bothered to even pay attention to the word in that Hadith “Ghazwa” – Ghazwa are those battles wherein Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] participated. Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] is dead hence such battles cannot be called “Ghazwa”. Version of Zaid Hamid and Akram Awan is not supported If we carefully read the original text of that Hadith what to talk of commentary of Ibn Kathir on the Hadith of Ghazwa-e- Hind which completely refute the bunkum of Zaid Hamid and Akram Awan.
